Ben Winkleblack serves as Chief Financial Officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland, where he oversees finance, human resources, operations, information technology, and the Jewish Free Loan Program. With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit financial management, Ben brings a strategic, systems driven approach to organizational leadership, focused on strengthening financial sustainability while expanding community impact. 

An Oregon native and proud Oregon Duck, Ben earned his degree from the University of Oregon in 2005 and joined the Federation in 2006. Over the past two decades, he has led complex budgeting and investment strategies, technology modernization initiatives, and operational transformations that support both internal efficiency and mission delivery. His management philosophy centers on eliminate, automate, delegate, helping organizations streamline processes, empower teams, and scale impact.   

Ben is deeply committed to strengthening Jewish life through thoughtful financial stewardship and innovative programs that increase access and resilience across the community. He draws inspiration from his late grandfather, Howard Schwartz, whose kindness and generosity continue to shape Ben’s approach to leadership and service.
