Associate Vice President for Local Government Affairs, Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Chicago

Jane Charney is the Associate Vice President for Local Government Affairs at Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Chicago, where she builds relationships with elected and appointed officials at the local level throughout our region and advocates on issues of concern to the Chicago-area Jewish community and JUF’s network of social service agencies. A Jewish professional with 20 years of experience, Jane holds a master’s in international relations from the University of Chicago, a certificate in Jewish leadership from the Spertus Institute, and a bachelor’s in journalism and international studies from Indiana University. A native of Moscow, Russia, she has led a variety of efforts engaging Russian-speaking Jewish students and young adults. Jane served two terms on the board of Mishkan Chicago. She lives with her husband and two children in Chicago’s Lincoln Park.
