Director, Jewish Community Relations Coalition of New Mexico

Juan Dircie is the inaugural Director of the Jewish Community Relations Coalition of New Mexico (JCRC-NM).  

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Juan began his academic journey at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he earned a B.A. in International Relations and Education before pursuing graduate studies in Jewish Education in the Diaspora. Upon returning to Buenos Aires, he worked for Keren Hayesod (United Israel Appeal) and later served as a professor of Jewish Social Studies and Jewish History at the Argentine–Hebrew Bar-Ilan University. 

In 2001 Juan moved to the United States, first working as a case manager for Jewish Community Services of South Florida and then with Hillel at the University of Miami. He subsequently joined the American Jewish Committee (AJC), where, over the course of his 16-year tenure, he was promoted through several roles and ultimately served as Deputy Director of the Belfer Institute for Latino and Latin American Affairs. Most recently, he served as Director for Latin America, Spain, and Portugal at Tel Aviv University. 

Across these roles, Juan has developed deep expertise in Jewish communal leadership, combating antisemitism, and Israel-related advocacy
