Boaz’s role as the CFO of JUF Chicago includes strategic direction and supervision for the areas of Finance, Investments, Real Estate, Audit, Risk Management, Insurance, Compliance and Retirement Plans; managing the consolidated balance sheet of nearly $3 billion including own endowments, support foundations, DAF, annuities; nearly 1,000,000 sq. ft of owned or managed real estate properties in metropolitan Chicago, an investment portfolio of $1.25 billion, close to $100 million of debt, and managing M&A strategy. 

Among Boaz’s accomplishments during his tenure at JUF are introducing and implementing a comprehensive financial strategy, upgrading JUF’s credit rating by Moody’s three times to Aa1, changing the investment management model, strengthening the balance sheet and corporate structure while cutting debt exposure and consolidating entities, and introducing digital transformation, including the organization’s migration to the multi-functional Salesforce CRM platform that offers significant efficiencies and enhanced cross-department collaboration. 

Prior to JUF, Boaz spent more than 20 years in banking and finance in Chicago, Silicon Valley, London and Tel Aviv, primarily in high tech and venture lending, commercial real estate banking, structured finance, wealth management and investment banking, foreign exchange and middle market lending. 

Boaz earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Tel Aviv University and his master’s in business administration from the University of Hartford. He also graduated from Stanford University’s Executive Program in Financial Management, and the Wharton School’s Business Analytics program.
