Ilene Rinn

Associate Vice President of Planning and Impact, Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh

Ilene is the Associate Vice President of Planning and Impact at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh where she is responsible for building the Federation’s role as a convener on community issues and as steward of community dollars. This includes the development of strong relationships with agencies, creating a clearly articulated vision for the community and strong community involvement in relevant decision making. Under Ilene’s leadership, the Federation changed the way it makes its communal planning and allocation decisions. She has been at the Federation for ten years in various positions in the planning department. 

Previous to her current position, Ilene was the first Chief Operations Officer of Sacred Spaces, an organization focused on addressing and preventing abuse in Jewish institutions. She also has relevant experience working for the New York Public Library, where she was a librarian and a development event planner. She has additional experience working for environmental non-profit organizations including the Nature Conservancy and League of Conservation Voters. 

Ilene graduated summa cum laude from the Pratt Institute where she received a master's degree in information and library science. She also holds a bachelor's degree in history and women's studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
