Director of Women's Philanthropy, Jewish Federation of Detroit

Lauren Soifer is the Director of Women's Philanthropy at the Jewish Federation of Detroit, where she focuses on female philanthropy, building community, and creating opportunities for women to connect with one another and make a difference. 

Lauren attended Michigan State University, graduating with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Jewish Studies. She was very involved with MSU Hillel, where she discovered her passion for building community and realized that a career in Jewish communal work was her calling. After graduation, Lauren joined the professional team Hillel at Emory University in Atlanta, where she advanced to the role of Associate Director during her time there. While working at Emory Hillel, she earned her Master’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management.  

In 2021, Lauren joined the NEXTGen Detroit professional team as Associate Director, dedicating herself to strengthening community connections and fostering a vibrant future for Jewish Detroit.  

Today, she serves as the Director of Women’s Philanthropy. Lauren loves walking into work every day knowing her efforts make a meaningful impact, not only for today, but also on the future of Jewish Detroit and around the world. Outside of work, she treasures time with family and friends, especially her husband, Matt, and their undeniably adorable Goldendoodle, Kona.
