Rebecca Gerbert (she/her) is the Managing Director, Lay Leadership Training and Development at the Jewish Federations of North America.

In this role, Rebecca works cross-organizationally within JFNA and local Federations to elevate lay leadership experiences ensuring a strong network of lay leaders across the Federation system. She manages cohorts of professionals working with lay leaders and is helping to curate opportune mechanisms for both volunteers and professional staff to expand and explore the different modalities surrounding leadership. Rebecca has a rich background in leadership development, having held pivotal roles in esteemed organizations such as Hillel International, where she served as the Director of Volunteer Leadership Experiences, and AIPAC, where she contributed as the National Deputy Director of the Leadership Institute and Regional Synagogue Initiative Director in the Southwest. Rebecca began her career as the first ever Executive Director of Regional Hillels of North Texas, working to enhance Jewish life for students on multiple campuses across North Texas. She earned her Masters of Education from the University of North Texas (Denton, Texas) and her Bachelors in Psychology from Wingate University (Wingate, North Carolina). When not at work, Rebecca can be found cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland sports teams, using her green-thumb in the garden, strolling at the dog park with her dog Toby, or volunteering at Jewish Family Services (JFS). She lives in Austin, Texas.
